Everyone loves to find a bargain item when shopping (especially if it’s something that they really need). Furniture is one of the most costly things that we can buy (especially if we need a lot of it), so finding inexpensive bar stools is something that every bar owner wishes to do. Buying discount bar stools is a great way to save money when opening a bar (or for your home if you have a tall table that needs stools to reach).

So where are the best places to buy discount bar stools? I’ve found that some of the best places to find cheap bar stools is at local garage, car boot sales and jumble sales. In America the concept of the garage sale is a time honoured tradition, and in most neighborhoods you’re only ever a few days away from a garage sale.

Car boot sales are often easier to find, since they’re usually designated to a set time at a set place (such as every other Sunday) and you’re guaranteed that a lot of people (and hopefully some discount bar stools) will be there.

While shopping at these events means that you’ll be able to find discount bar stools for a fraction of the price that you’d have to pay at retail, you shouldn’t ever stop there. Don’t forget that you have the right to haggle, and that many of these sale owners will actually expect it, and will set their prices up accordingly. If you’ve never haggled before, offer the owner of the discount bar stool half of the money that they are asking for (if there is no price tag on it go off of the retail price average) and then work up from there. Once he or she sees that you’re a serious buyer they may be prepared to give a little more leeway, but at the same time always be prepared to walk away if the price doesn’t suit you.

If you live in a rural area or in a place where none of these events ever seem to happen you can always hop online and find great discount bar stools just as easily. The problem with shopping online, however, is that you rarely get to see what you’re buying up close and first hand before you hand your money over, so it can be a bit more of a risk.
