Also, the drop between the ceiling and the start of the chandelier is all part of the effect so you need to take in to account both these distances when choosing a chandelier.

Now that you have this measurement you will have a good idea of the kind of size of chandelier that you can buy. Remember that the biggest chandelier that you can accommodate may not look as good as a slightly smaller one, but at least this calculation will help you to work out which chandeliers you can choose between.
