Stair Assembly – The Easy Way

Posted on August 31st, 2010 in How To/Guides | No Comments »

Prefabricated stairs needs to be assembled once they arrive at the your place and the prefabricated kits come with a complete manual of handling the assembly. What is of prime importance is the ability of the person to fix the stairs with exact precision. Once the assembly is done it is difficult to make any changes since the wood stairs are nailed at joints and can not be altered later on, so it’s vitally important that you get everything right the first time around.

The first step to assembling a stair unit is mentally work through the procedure and than create a step by step approach (although this is usually provided in some kind of instruction manual). The initial step usually involves fixing the base frame of the assembly, since the base frame acts as a guide for rest of the assembly to take place. Since prefabricated stair kits have the treads and risers cut in actual size (as ordered) and the railings packaged in small units, it is very easy to attach things together without too much trouble.

I have done this myself several times, and believe me if you can understand the assembly manual, it is almost as easy as walking up and down the stairs themselves!

To start with, after fixing the base take up the risers and nail them to the main body of the staircase unit. Once the risers are done, a matching treads should be fixed, this should be done from bottom to top, as the end result accuracy increases. Now feel free to test the proper fitting if the treads and risers and than only assemble the hand railing, balusters and the stair stringers. Newel post should be taken before railing, as it designs the rest of the assembly.

Taking prefabricated exterior stairs for the assembly is also an easy task and in now way demands any extra precision or knowledge. This is far better than the technique of constructing stairs at the site and than seeking expert help on getting it fine tuned.

If you’re going to need seating for a larger number of people than usual, stacking chairs can come to the rescue. They take up little storage room, and they are available in any style to suit your needs or wants. The versatility that they give your planning can be a great stress reliever.

No matter what you need, there’s a style to suit. Classic styles, which give a feeling of solid sturdiness, modern and casual styles that provide a relaxed atmosphere are all to be found. They also come in different sizes for those with a number of children to seat. There are even folding stacking chairs to provide the maximum in number of chairs that can be stored in your storage area (and which are ideal for using as additional dining room chairs).

Sometimes it may make more sense to rent stackable chairs rather than to buy them. For those with only a one-time or an occasional need (such when you need a lot of cheap office chairs for some kind of event), buying may not be the best path to take. In addition to saving them money, the need for storage space is also eliminated. If you need delivery and pick up, many rental companies will provide that too.

Smaller sized meetings in the home often call for extra seating, but you don’t want those extra seats in the way during the rest of the time. For these, stacking chairs are the way to go. In just a few minutes, you can pull them out of their storage spot and set them up. The great thing is that the rest of thee time they are stashed out of the way, not cluttering up your home.

Chairs that are stackable may not be the answer to everyone’s needs, but for those that do have a need, they’re a good choice. They are versatile, efficient, and space saving.  Stacking chairs can be the perfect solution to your occasional seating needs.

Chrome Bar Stools: An Outstanding Seating Option

Posted on August 29th, 2010 in Chairs | No Comments »

These days,  it’s not surprising to see chrome bar stools in both home and commercial settings because they are an outstanding seating option wherever used. These stools go with almost any kind of decor and style of room – from pastels colors to rich colors and dark colors. In other words, chrome bar stools will look great in any kind of interior color scheme.

The seats of most chrome bar stools come in dark colors (such as black, brown and raspberry) because deep colors provide a nice balance to the shiny chrome (the same is also true with many wooden bar stools). When employed in the bars or kitchen counters, chrome stools do not usually come with backrests. Without back support, the chrome stools become lighter in weight and can easily be slid underneath the counter. It is also easier to carry and move the stools within the room or into another room.

Stools with swivel features are now becoming widely popular among homeowners and business owners. Swivel chrome bar stool provides flexibility and convenience to the users because the stools can be rotated easily should the users want to change direction. For added flexibility, swivel chrome stools with adjustable height can be availed.

Chrome stools come with anti-rustic properties which are particularly useful in places where food and drinks are served. Spills can lead to rusting of regular metal bar stools but the rate of rusting can be greatly diminished if your choice of stool has a chrome finish. Of course, even though chrome stools have anti-rustic qualities, it is still important to clean the stools and to wipe dirt and spill that stick to their surface.

Another advantage of using chrome bar stools is the fact that they have sturdy and strong form. This is mainly important if the stools will be used by kids and elderly because sitting on sturdy stools will lessen the likelihood of accidents like falling from the stools. The sturdy form is also useful if the bar stools are expected to be used frequently and by a lot of people.

Chrome stools can be bought online and offline. When you shop offline, ask the salespersons or the store owner what particular metal is used under the chrome surface. The best choices for the base are hard metals like hardened aluminum, stainless steel and other forms of steel. If possible, do not choose malleable metals such as copper because they reduce the durability of chrome stools. Shopping offline is also the best way to find discount bar stools, especially if you shop at a furniture outlet store.

It is without doubt that chrome bar stools make outstanding seating option because they are attractive, flexible and strong. These stools can be enjoyed in homes, bars, restaurants and workplaces, among others. If you need new stools, do not forget to include chrome bar stools in your options list.
